On October 11, 2014 I said a tear filled
goodbye to my parents in the international terminal at LAX. My journey
to Romania was beginning. I arrived into London on the 12th
and then on October 13, 2014 I arrived into Bucharest, Romania. Today
marks the two year anniversary of my living here. I just got back from
treating myself to a coffee and a cupcake to celebrate! (that’s a REALLY
big deal for me!) I have now actually spent five years of my life
total living here in Romania if we add up all the times I’ve been here.
That’s pretty awesome for me to think about.
It’s funny, when I write out two years, it doesn’t seem like a lot of
time. But I feel like I have lived a lifetime here already. There have
been ups and downs, highs and lows, times of community and times of
loneliness. Life in Romania is just like life in California in those
ways.
But through it all, I would not change a thing. The hard, sad, lonely
times have brought me closer to Christ. They have taught me more about
who He is and His love for me. They have shown me that through
anything, He is constant and cares for me. Those times have also
refined me and help me to grow into a better woman. The good times have
blessed my socks off and have also shown God’s love for me though
friends, experiences and little surprises along the way.
I just wanted to write you all to share this video of my time here in
Romania over the past two years. I have so many memories already, and
so much to be thankful for. Thank YOU for supporting me, praying for me
and not forgetting about me! I hope you enjoy the video.
